Hi there, I’m Denise Wilson, stationer and designer at Dogwood Blossom Stationery. I’ve created this blog to showcase my work a little differently than on my website. Here, I’d like to celebrate my clients, discuss the inspiration behind my work, and offer ideas to anyone out there planning an event and looking for that perfect invitation. I really like what I do for a living, and I hope you like my work! If so, please post your comments and leave your feedback.
Dogwood Blossom Stationery specializes in creating custom wedding and event invitations that simply burst with color, embellishment, and dimension, and we enjoy creatively integrating unexpected elements into your wedding or event ensemble. Your color scheme, motif, and theme can be carried through to your ceremony programs, escort cards, seating cards, table numbers, menus, favor tags, thank you cards, and many other paper goods. We offer you an enhanced, one-on-one invitation design experience to ensure you get the breathtaking results you desire.
I’d love to work with you to create the perfect invitations for your wedding or event! Just email me at Denise{at}DogwoodBlossomStationery.com to set up a design consultation.
And here’s my real wedding…
Our wedding colors were a palette of pinks and fresh spring green and we chose as our venue a beautiful estate house with a large flower garden, an outdoor brick amphitheater, and a quaint little gazebo overlooking a lake. Our invitations were white with pink peonies – each one hand-stamped by us with a custom stamp set. I love peonies. I love their grand size, their perfect roundness, and their soft petals. I remember begging our florist, “If you could just add a few peonies!” And she did! Lots of them! I was thrilled!
Details were important to us. We bought our peony stamp in an assortment of sizes so we could add our motif to everything – the ceremony programs (my personal favorite paper good), the table numbers (which doubled as menus), and the seating cards. Later, we also made some very complicated photo thank you notes using the same stamp. It’s years later, and we still see our thank you note on display in the homes of family members and friends.
The next year, with much thought and consideration, Dogwood Blossom Stationery was born. My mom had our wedding invitation custom framed for us, and it hangs above my desk in my studio – a reminder of the beginning.
