The roaring twenties was a time of wealth, reform and an ongoing party. This Great Gatsby theme put together by Misty Miotto‘s team encompasses all there is to love about this age, with a modern swing to keep it relevant. Follow the marvelous photographer on a journey to the past.
The 20s introduced a “new woman” and ladies everywhere were breaking traditions in everything–especially in fashion. Here, the model brides are no exception with bobbed hair styles, bejeweled hair pieces, lavish jewelry and dresses from The Collection Bridal which did an incredible job capturing the essence of the era.
The bride’s look is a delicate balance between something new and something borrowed. Her hairpiece, gloves, jewelry and veil are all borrowed from the twenties while her dress has a modern bodice with simple details–making it the perfect canvas for her more expressive pieces. The attention to detail makes this look work without being costume-like.
The name “Golden Era” is extremely prominent in the color selection for the decor. The golden, ruffled table covers from Over the Top use texture to add variation and the feathered centerpieces add the free flowing breeze of the period. The Church Street Ballroom is the ideal place to hold such an event because architecturally it enhances the theme with its symmetrical design, high ceilings and large columns. All of these factors give guests a chance to Charleston the night away in style.
Our escort cards, table numbers, menus, and invitations are no exception to the glitz and glamour of the signature tune. Staying golden, the creamy background with simple line design stands out when put against the gilded surfaces. We used an Art Deco-inspired font that looks like they were created almost a century ago. The invitations were nestled in gold mesh pouches embellished with sequins and glass beads and placed in gold invitation boxes lined with white faux fur. Talk about decadence!
Our Mr. and Mrs. chair back signs were used to hold the place of the new couple. Simple, elegant and most importantly–easy to tell who are the guests of honor!
This cake by Party Flavors focuses on the elegance of the era by adorning the layers with a simple collection of pearl necklaces cascading from a flower.
From the ceremony to the reception and to the moment the last guest exits, this Great Gatsby-themed wedding will be sure to leave an everlasting impression.
The collective effort of all the vendors involved made this extravaganza come together beautifully. Watch the video that Key Moment Films put together to see some awesome behind-the-scenes shots:
