Patricia and Armando were inspired by the hues of Monet’s gardens – dreamy lilac, purples, and sky blues. We loved working with them to create paper goods that coordinated with their vision for their breathtaking backyard garden wedding. Weddings Unique organized a group of talented vendors, including Kathy Thomas Photography, who transformed a private yard into a dream-like space.

We started with their wedding invitation, which a decadent, double-thick card of Pearl White cotton, letterpressed in lilac purple and charcoal gray on the back and front.  The back of the invitation was nearly filled with purple florals so that the letterpress created a luxurious tactility that caused guests to flip the card over.  Inside the spray of florals was printed a quote by Elizabeth Barrett Browning that was special to the bride because it was contained within a book of poetry given to her by her late father: “I love thee with the breath, smiles, tears of all my life.”

We created day-of paper goods in a traditional garden style, using champagnes, creams and light purples, which looked lovely against lavender-gray and bright blue linens. The ceremony programs, table number signs, and favor table sign all featured the same pretty, botanical artwork done completely in lilac ink. Sharp-edged squares, borders, and strong lines cleaned up the floral so that the look was not too saccharine.

We especially love to the escort card display… lilac tented escort cards displayed so classically in arcs on a round table.

We always offer our clients their custom monogram file to use for other non-paper purposes, like the GOBO that Get Lit Productions projected onto the pool and the draped backdrop of the reception.

This was an absolutely beautiful backyard wedding, don’t you think!  Remember to keep track of our current and ongoing projects on our Facebook page.

Marzetta and Brian are a fun-loving couple whose wedding at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress exuded the perfect party atmosphere. We loved their bold royal purple and lime green color scheme and their contemporary but fun style.

We took great pleasure in designing and producing their custom typographical wedding invitations, escort cards, welcome letters, favor tags, and select signage.  Possibly our favorite pieces were their escort cards, which doubled as favor tags. Guests were asked to keep the clear photo frames that displayed the escort cards and swap out the escort cards with a commemorative photo strip from photo booth sessions with Photobooth Rocks!. Our second favorite pieces were their sunglass tags, which read: “Don’t be blinded by our love!”  Truly, I think those tags likely set the stage for a crazy, quirky weekend of fun.  For their table numbers, we coordinated them with the fun, modern style of their escort cards, using the same purple background and white lettering.  We used a tiny heart on many of their pieces as a line break and the only true “artwork” element.

The talented team from Just Marry! pulled out all the stops to guarantee Marzetta and Brian’s celebration was one-of-a-kind, with Steven Miller Photography and Pro One Video on site to record every moment. While Strings, Etc. and White Rose Entertainment delivered amazing music for both the ceremony and reception, the spotlight entertainment was the award-winning Egyptian Cabaret belly dancer, Yana, from Daytona Beach Bellydance. It was an amazing action-packed performance with Marzetta and Brian joining in on the dance floor.

We had a blast working with you, Marzetta and Brian. Thank you for choosing us to design your custom wedding invitation and papers!

PS – Not only did we love this wedding, but so did The Knot! We were thrilled to see this wedding featured recently!

Holly and Geoff are a fun couple with romantic sensibilities.  When I first met with Holly for our invitation design consultation, she told me about her vision for her wedding – romantic and soft, with vintage and glam touches.  Many months later, their wedding perfectly fit that description.  Holly and Geoff had a beautiful ceremony under the Spanish moss-covered trees at Up the Creek Farms. Planned by “I Do” Weddings by Kristen and photographed by Henk Prinsloo Photography, their wedding had plenty of pretty details spanning from the southern feel and open rafters of the Boathouse, rustic touches from vintage furniture and findings, and glam delivered by various metallics and glitter, including sequined table runners. The color palette for the day was blush pink, ivory, and brown.  Textures included lace, pearl, sequins, raw woods, and an itty, itty, itty bit of burlap. We used this romantic range of colors and textures as a jumping-off point when designing their custom invitations and paper goods.

We created their custom wedding invitation in a pouch style.  The pouch was created in a shimmery soft pink and used a wide cream lace wrap, blush satin ribbon, and a die-cut nameplate adorned with pearls.  The invitation was printed with a vintage patina to give the look of aged paper and layered onto blush.  All of the enclosures were tucked conveniently behind the invitation in the pouch ensemble before being mailed.  We addressed their pink envelopes in a matching handwriting-style font in dark brown.

At the wedding, guests could follow along with the ceremony while cooling themselves with our custom fan programs.  Holly and Geoff chose die-cut fan programs, printed on blush pink in dark brown.  We carried their floral artwork throughout their day-of papers.  We also created die-cut table numbers with a vintage patina for the reception, the couple’s sweetheart table sign, and tent-style escort cards.  The coordinating paper goods helped give the wedding a cohesive look from start to finish.  Custom day-of papers are the perfect marriage of function and aesthetics.

The rest of the decor captured the balance between romantic vintage and glamorous styles. Buds Etc. Floral Studio created classic-looking arrangements of pink roses, white hydrangea, and baby’s breath which were tempered by the sparkle of the gold charger plates and sequined table runners from Crystal and Crates. Crystal and Crates even supplied a vintage truck for some amazing photo opps!

Thank you Holly and Geoff for choosing to work with Dogwood Blossom Stationery to design and create your custom wedding papers!  It was so much fun working with you!

Dallin and Gideon had a beautiful, fun, and ultra-personal wedding at the Orlando Science Center.  They are a creative, fun-loving, and inspired couple who wanted to incorporate their personalities and common interests into their wedding, so we were super excited to get to work on their designs!  One of their favorite leisure activities is board games and gaming, so a lot of inspiration initially came from their favorite games; then for day-of papers we were able to incorporate a lot of other fun stuff from their life together, like their adorable pups, Loki and Samson.  Dallin and Gideon’s wedding was really quite amazing–a thoroughly unique venue that mixed a somewhat industrial concrete patio for the ceremony with thrilling and fun dinosaur relics at the reception, a choreographed swing dance for the couple’s first dance, sock and shoe changes between ceremony and reception, and tons of personal touches throughout.

Our invitations and paper goods featured a color palette of blues, teals, and pale green with a honeycomb pattern based loosely on a favorite game.  On the reverse, we used a hearthstone from the game World of Warcraft.  In the game, you choose a home location, and the hearthstone can be used to return you to that location…how spectacularly fitting for a wedding invitation! The invitation is printed on a sleek transparent sleeve that slides over a textured white pocket folder that contains the response enclosure and important wedding information.  The inside of the folder was custom-printed with their colorful pattern and we used a round nameplate with their monogram on the printed enclosure band that held their response enclosure.

We carried the honeycomb pattern and the clean and contemporary text style onto the menus and escort cards, and the couple’s monogram and styled names were used on several other key paper goods like the ceremony programs, a “guest book poster” for guests to sign, and a larger-than-life sign that was held in the mouth of T-Rex.

Lee Forrest Design did an amazing job creating florals for the ceremony and reception that fit Gideon and Dallin’s style perfectly.  They created a perfect setting for the escort card table in particular, by placing glass dishes filled with stones interspersed with masculine florals into which the escort cards were displayed.

For the first time ever, we coordinated with Party Flavors Custom Cakes to design a custom cake topper!  Their super-unique cake was designed with hexagonal tiers with a fondant pattern that coordinated with the honeycomb pattern of the paper goods.  We also created several signage pieces ranging from table numbers, cards and gifts signage, and dessert buffet tags for the spectacular dessert buffet by Two Sweets Bake Shop.

Gideon and Dallin put so much attention into the details of their wedding, and we were thrilled to be part of their wedding!  We love working with couples who want super-unique paper goods that fully express their personalities and style.  For us, this will be a wedding and a couple to remember for a long, long time.  Thank you, Gideon and Dallin, for choosing to work with Dogwood Blossom Stationery!

“We hired Denise with Dogwood Blossom Stationery very early in the wedding planning process. It was the best decision we made. Denise came up with a modern and contemporary vision for our save-the-dates and invitations that ended up helping us style the wedding overall. As we are not very creative people ourselves, I cannot imagine what our wedding would have been like had we not brought Denise on board early on. We used Denise with everything on paper: invitations, save-the-dates, thank-you cards, custom menus, various signs around the reception and ceremony, a guest sign-in poster, cake topper, programs. Everything was extremely well done, fully 100% customized, and truly made our wedding unique. Honestly, hiring a custom designer for paper goods is naturally going to be more expensive than buying things online. But what a world of difference it made—not just in the paper goods themselves, but in really tying everything together and making our wedding look like it was a professionally-designed event. In every category of vendor, we hired who we were told was the best in town. But out of all of them, Dogwood Blossom was truly the one we could not have done without.” [Gideon and Dallin, review from WeddingWire]

With the temperature dipping and leaves turning, we were thrilled work alongside Bluegrass ChicSwanky I Do’s and Vine & Light Photography in this holiday styled shoot at The Acre, a rustic outdoor venue hidden away in Orlando’s College Park neighborhood. The wild landscape offered the perfect backdrop for the vintage setting. Shades of red and white floral arrangements with natural greenery, winter berries, and gold accents beautifully complimented the black and white table linens. We used this rich color palette throughout, combining it with soft, natural tones to create our custom invitations and paper goods.

We created a layered invitation with a paper + ribbon extra-wide custom-printed bellyband.  To reflect the linens, we printed the bellyband with black and white striped and added a burgundy ribbon with a neat knot.  The enclosures were also contained within this bellyband to keep the ensemble organized.  We chose a gold envelope and lined it with a custom black and white striped envelope liner.

We carried the same styling and variants of the motif through to the day-of papers, including escort cards adorned with notched deep red ribbons, menus that were displayed in faux antlers, and specialty signage for the bar.

From the sophistication of the red glassware and gold place settings, to the stunning, three-tiered cake with brushed gold antlers, to the furry Husky whose collar was adorned with winter foliage, we loved every aspect of this holiday styled shoot.

Earlier in the year, we were thrilled to be a part of a Southern glam styled shoot to promote the grand opening of the new Ocoee Lakeshore Center. We worked alongside talented event professionals, including Bumby Photography and perfectionist planner, Anna Christine Events, showcasing Southern sophistication in the ‘Sweet as Tea, Meant to Be’ theme. The array of soft green, buttery yellow, vibrant peach, white and gold gave the shoot a welcoming atmosphere.

The romantic color palette flowed through our custom invitations and paper goods as we used a folding invitation with a custom, delicate vintage floral pattern on the interior, and a gold foiled monogram on the exterior.  Response enclosures were contained in a moss green satin ribbon-lined enclosure band with die cut monogram.

We carried the exquisite shape of the invitation over to the exclusively designed dinner menus that were nestled into a pocket of white satin on each gold charger from A Chair Affair. Adding a pale green border and a floral element, they matched the place cards that were attached to tea bags with complimenting ribbon. The table numbers were gold foil with a chic vine detail on white card stock.

For the drink and hors d’oeuvres menus, we layered the Southern selections on top of the floral card stock carried over from the inside of the invitations, giving a lovely framed effect to the display. The custom made Arnold Palmer take-home bar favors detailed the recipe for the Southern cocktail.

From the floral arrangements in white milk glass vases with a hand-picked feel, to the intricate detail of the five-tier wedding cake designed by Cut the Cake, to the whimsical flair of the ‘Meant to Be’ pennant-style banner, we loved the Southern elegance of this shoot!

What a great collaboration! Bluegrass Chic designed a reception table for a Southern tea and Two Sweets Bake Shop designed an accompanying bourbon bar-inspired dessert buffet.  So many elements enhanced the Southern equestrian style, including vintage china, lace details, an abundance of flowers, and (of course) a horse motif!  Thanks to Allan Jay Images for capturing the look so beautifully!

Our paper goods featured horseshoe and wildflower artwork to bring the South into our work. We used earth tones to keep the look classic, such as deep green, sage, burgundy and goldenrod. The menus were layered onto pale metallic gold stock and accented by an emblem with the couple’s monogram surrounded by a golden yellow horseshoe with burgundy flowers. We also made a sign to welcome guests to the celebration, which used the same artwork as the menu but included the written theme of the day: “Tea for Two, and Two for Tea.”

On the table, we carried the traditional Southern design elements to several accent pieces. Guests knew that they were in the correct seat by our unique place cards: teabag tags printed with their names! Also at each place setting was a favor of jarred lemon curd, for which we made circular tags with the wildflower artwork. For a fun touch, each guest also had access to a bell with our tag that read, “Ring for Kisses!” Both the favor tags and the bell tags were tied with a silky sage green ribbon to coordinate with the color palette.

The dessert buffet by Two Sweets Bake Shop featured our sign announcing that the buffet would open after brunch. This time, we chose to accent the sign with the couple’s full monogram flanked by wildflowers instead of using the horseshoe and single letter monogram. Be assured–the dessert table had plenty of horses! We created signage for each sweet treat that had sophisticated horse artwork at the top. Plus, the table was styled with horse statues and riding paraphernalia intermingled with the candy and cupcakes.

We loved creating this look with some of our favorite wedding professionals! Thank you all:

Imagine a wedding on Halloween…what do you envision? Instead of the commercially prevalent orange pumpkins and witches riding on brooms, a more glamorous route was taken for this styled shoot. We were so excited to work with some of our favorite event professionals, including Lee Forrest Design, Two Sweets Bake Shop, Everything Cake, and Bumby Photography, at an amazing location–the stunningly dramatic Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando.  Imagined by Two Sweets Bake Shop and designed in partnership with Mobella Events, this team of wedding pros produced a romantic look full of candles and decadence with touches of whimsy here and there.

Rich purples and vivid red were used as accent colors to the inky black and gleaming gold that took center stage for the color scheme. Both the invitations and the menus used gold foil on black stock. The invitation was layered on top of gold metallic and black stock with a thick black satin ribbon tied in a bow on one side. Gold foil was used to create an ornate frame-like border around the playful text: telling guests that “the wicked pleasure of your company is requested” and reiterating the slightly morbid sentiment “’til death do us part.” Branch-like artwork capped the top and bottom of the invitation, and a tiny bat was placed at the bottom for a classic Halloween touch.

The same artwork from the invitation was used on the black menus. The round shape of the menus was created by die-cut to fit perfectly on the vintage china from A Chair Affair. We assumed that the cake from Everything Cake was a “death by chocolate” cake! Speaking of decadence, Two Sweets Bake Shop outdid themselves with the amazing dessert buffet. We created tent cards for the various sweets (also gold foil on black) that warned guests: “antidote as yet unavailable.” Bats and skulls and cross bones added a decorative accent that brought back the Halloween theme.

We channeled classic Halloween decor when creating the escort card table. Using our new printed wood technique, we created “tombstones” for the escort cards along with a sign for guests to “find your resting place.” Each card read “here lies,” then the guest’s name, the their “plot” number (the table number). The cards were placed amongst moss for full graveyard effect. The guests knew they were at the correct table when they found the coordinating printed wood table numbers listing their plot number.

We loved that this shoot was so detailed! From the tiny spider on our escort card table sign, to the rosary cross in the bride’s bouquet, to the Day of the Dead figurines on the dessert buffet, everything was so well thought out. We could definitely see this styled shoot translating into a real-life wedding full of beautifully personal touches.

If this dark glam look is totally “you,” contact us for a consultation. We can help you create the perfect paper goods for your wedding or special event.

So thrilled to have been part of this team!  A huge thank you and congratulations to all of the vendors involved in this shoot:

Back in February, we sponsored the monthly meeting for the Association of Bridal Consultants Central Florida by providing all of the paper goods. Held at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Winery in Winter Park, the evening had a rich, sophisticated look that was inspired by the colors of wine. Weddings in the City did a fantastic job coordinating all of the details for the team of local event professionals who contributed products and services to the meeting.

Errol Colon photographed all of our paper products so beautifully! We created two different die-cut menus, escort cards, place cards, table numbers, and the sponsor card. All of our paper goods used cream-colored stock and featured a floral motif of garden roses in a warm-toned palette of deep reds, plum, pink and orange. The text was printed in shimmering gold, including a foiled finish on the round menus, to coordinate with the mixed metal finishes of the rest of the event decor.

For the showcase table, we made a round menu that fit perfectly on the gold filigree chargers by A Chair Affair. The dinner tables featured our menus that were die-cut in a curving frame shape. Both menus used the colorful floral artwork (along the side for the round menu, and along the bottom of the curvy menu) and a modern calligraphy-style font. The curvy frame shape was continued with the simple table number cards, and a similar shape was used for the floral-filled place cards. Both the escort cards and the sponsor card were mounted on shimmery, deep red tent cards. The color and finish of the red stock matched perfectly with the wine-colored showcase linens provided by GBS Linens.

The rest of the decor for the event used a variety of finishes and textures for a layered, collected look. We love the mix of silver and gold pieces along with gleaming glass and natural bamboo on the table top. Atmospheres Floral & Decor created gorgeous topiary-like centerpieces for the showcase tables, and smaller floral arrangements with fiddle ferns and deep red roses for the dinner tables. The cake by Party Flavors Custom Cakes appeared to be covered with small Spanish tiles, and had a pop of contrasting color with the turquoise lace borders and cascade of deep blue sugar flowers.

We were honored to provide paper goods for this meeting, and other ABC meetings as well. Check out our Facebook page to see other examples of the work we can produce!

Thank you to all of the participating event professionals for creating a fabulous event!

Isabelle and David are a laid-back, surf style couple.  While David actually is a surfer, Isabelle prefers to lounge on the beach as a spectator.  In any case, their wedding was totally reflective of their relaxed, fun, and friendly disposition.  We loved working with this couple to create custom invitations and paper goods that reflected their lifestyle and their personas.

Isabelle and David were married on the beach at The Sandbar Restaurant on the beautiful Anna Maria Island. They incorporated many island-tropical elements into their wedding day decor, including a coordinating, custom-designed suite of paper goods made by yours truly! Dara Caudill of Island Photography did such a great job of photographing all of our paper pieces used at the wedding–we love these images!  (Photos of invitation were taken by us.)

Their invitation was colorful and whimsical, layered onto textured sand-colored stock and backed with navy stock. The artwork depicted a bride and groom at sunset, surrounded by palm trees, surfboards, and curling ocean waves. The important information was written below, entering the depths of the ocean. Tropical fish and seaweed decorated both sides of the invitation. Isabelle insisted that we add a mola-mola fish to the invitation… we never did hear the whole story behind that choice! The ocean-themed artwork was consistent throughout the couple’s paper goods, from the programs to the escort cards to the table signs.

The response cards and the accommodation cards that were included with the invitation were some of the most fun and unique pieces that we created for Isabelle and David. Guests received a custom-drawn map of the island to help them find their way to the wedding festivities. The response card featured personalized questions like “Are you more afraid of sharks or alligators?” and “Do you like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain?” These touches were sure to put a smile on the guest’s face and set the tone for their relaxed beach wedding.

The escort cards were displayed on fisherman’s netting (such a cute idea!) with clothespins. We designed navy blue tent cards for the table numbers and signs identifying the new couple and inviting guests to sign the guest book. For a special touch on the bride and groom’s chairs, we created scallop-edged chair back signs that said “guapisima” and “guapisimo”–“gorgeous” and “handsome” in Spanish. We even created a custom wedding letterhead on which Isabelle printed pertinent wedding info for the bridal party.

Isabelle and David’s wedding really shows how consistent paper goods can make your special day look polished and personal. Contact us if you would like YOUR event to have a cohesive look from start to finish.
