It may be the end of summer here in Florida, but we’re thinking about cooler temperatures. We were honored to be a part of this wintery photo shoot in 2012 with Bumby Photography (then known as Kristina Grimm Photography). This styled shoot was even featured on Style Me Pretty! Make sure you read the feature here.

The look of this shoot reflected the rustic touches of the location, Wekiwa State Park Boys Youth Ranch, with blue tones, silver, and warm white. We created our invitations and paper goods using icy blue and kraft-colored stock with snowflake borders and a pinecone motif.

The invitations were printed on matte white, layered onto cool blue shantung satin, and backed with a textured white stock for a luxe, layered look.  A rustic brown pinecone was featured prominently at the top of the invitation and on the response envelope. A sky blue embroidery pattern was used as a border, and also lined the invitation envelopes. Both the invitation and response card were enclosed in kraft brown envelopes. We added a bow in blue twisted paper eco-twine wrapped around the envelope for a finishing touch.

Pinecones and snowflakes continued through the rest of the paper goods that we made. Our napkin-cuff menus were printed on matte white and layered onto kraft and designed to wrap around the napkins for a pretty presentation. We also created a “wedding this way” sign to direct guests to the ceremony, which was tacked to a pine tree and accented by some of the beautiful floral by Fairbanks Florist. To complete our stationery suite, we made simple white escort cards with each guest’s name printed in a lowercase handwriting script, then layered the cards onto sturdy, textured white tent cards.

The winter wonderland really showed through in the rest of the decor as well. The all-white wedding cake by Everything Cake featured white nonpareils and sparkling white sanding sugar to represent the snow that Floridians can only dream of. Hand-painted appliqués in icy blue and silvery gray completed the stunning four-tier cake. We also especially loved the bouquet! Creamy roses and softly-colored flowers were mixed with silver-toned dusty miller and smoky succulents, all wrapped in burlap and tied with brown string.

Thank you to all of the wedding professionals involved for making this a beautiful photo shoot:

{Real Event} AFR's "The Blueprint:" Behind-the-scenes Production

We were so thrilled to sponsor the VIP invitations for AFR Event Furnishing‘s annual networking event this year!  AFR has a long tradition of super creative and mind-blowing events that start with innovative and out-of-the-box invitations.  We were totally up for the challenge!

Because this project was so much fun, we wanted to invite you for a behind-the-scenes look at production.  Here are some fun action shots and the work that resulted!

The theme for this year’s networker was “The Blueprint: Furniture Exposed.”  When we sat down with AFR to discuss what they wanted to do for this year’s invitation, they had loads of ideas and inspiration.  Some of the stand-out ideas that really seemed to fit the bill for the theme were kraft-colored mailing tubes with the invitation rolled inside, miniature tables that somewhat resembled AFR’s Mon accent tables, and “blueprint”-style drawings of furniture.  Rather than choose just one idea, we opted to create a boxed invitation that combined all these super cute ideas for a knock-your-socks off presentation!

To start, we watercolor-washed a standard mailing box to give it a streaky blue color.  Custom labels were applied to the box top containing the event logo (created by AFR’s in-house marketing team and used throughout the invitation) and the invited guests’ names.

Next, we assembled and painted mini “tables” in three of the six colors in which the Mon tables can be rented – teal, rose, and lime.  Our “in-house engineer” and CAD expert (my husband Daniel) then created CAD drawings of those tables for use as a wallpaper that we applied to the inside of the box.  We added some appropriate creative flourishes to the wallpaper and developed a custom-printed lift pad for the base, with cutouts for each of the items included in the box: the mini painted table, a mini kraft-colored mailing tube with invitation rolled inside, and a “You are invited” tent card to stand on the table.  The lift pads were inserted and attached inside each of the assembled boxes.

We created the mini kraft-colored mailing tubes by covering clear plastic tubes with kraft paper.  The invitation, printed on Bright White, was rolled inside and a printed arrow encouraged the invitation’s removal.  Each invitation was personalized with the invited guests’ names, and the mailing tube contained a teeny-tiny label, also printed with the guests’ name or company name.  The mailing tube was then tied onto the lift pad using a thin white satin ribbon bow so it stayed in place during transit.

To ensure the invitations were interactive and to encourage guests to “play” with the tables and perhaps even display them in their workspace, we designed a small tent card with “You are invited” and AFR’s logo to be removed from the box and set up on the table.  The table colors were randomly assigned to guests so everyone received a fun surprise.

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to show off our studio’s in-house capabilities with this project and to be involved in such an amazingly outstanding event!  Thank you AFR for allowing us to create these invitations for you!  Hope we can do it again soon!

Beautiful flowers abound in this playful, Americana-themed shoot captured by Claire Pacelli Photography and coordinated by Michele Butler Events. Showcasing bright reds, whites and blues, bold stripes, and oversized flowers, this gorgeously modern shoot is truly special. We are excited that it was recently featured on Every Last Detail!

We created a folding invitation featuring wide horizontal stripes in navy and silver foil. Inside, the folder is printed with white and navy stripes, and the invitation is die-cut.  The response enclosure is also die-cut and is contained within a navy satin ribbon enclosure band adorned with a die-cut monogram.  A contrasting poppy print lines the dark blue envelope, for a colorful floral surprise. We created a monogram of the bride and groom’s initials that is featured prominently on both the envelope and the RSVP card.

The poppies, stripes and frames are carried throughout the paper goods. Featuring these motifs, the cheerful escort cards are mounted on folded navy tent cards. Displayed on the brilliant red chargers provided by BBJ Linens, our handcrafted menus also feature the charming monogram on the top header. A red fabric ribbon with notched ends is a perfect custom addition that gives a lovely textural effect, running vertically through the menu.

The exquisite floors of the Wyndham Resort International Drive were the inspiration for the entire shoot! The oversized flowers and intense hues gave birth to the concept for “Red, White and Bloom” and inspired the rest of the decor. Over The Top Rental Linens created the perfect homage to Americana with the dynamic striped fabric background for the ceremony. We also love the eye-popping, patriotic floral arrangements by Atmospheres Floral and Décor which used a veritable garden of roses, tulips, and ranunculus.

For the candy buffet by Sweet Bliss Couture Candy Catering, our custom tags adorn the displays with navy striped ribbon, elegant script and the lovely poppy motif.  A three-tiered wedding cake by Anna Cakes is the perfect finishing touch, with a rich red floral ruffle, subtle lace textures and bold stripes, topped with a single red rose.

Dana and Justin’s Grand Bohemian Hotel wedding, planned by Weddings in the City, was classically glamorous and ultra-romantic.  The bride’s gown and chapel veil were absolute show stoppers! We gathered inspiration from Dana’s grace and the couple’s chic style when we created their invitation, escort cards, and table cards, and signage. Their nuptials, captured beautifully by Scott Craig Photography, seem absolutely timeless.

We created a folding invitation for Dana and Justin with a champagne exterior foiled in shiny gold and accented with light peach Swarovski crystals. The interior of the folder was blush pink printed with a light pink custom micro-floral pattern. Their invitation was die-cut and their enclosures were contained within a custom-printed enclosure band with die-cut monogram. Their escort cards were printed onto blush pink and accented with a single crystal to create a colorful, but still soft, display.

Dana chose table names based on Italian cities – the country of her heritage – which we then printed in an elegant script and die-cut into shape. We also created a number of signs for the couple to help carry their wedding branding throughout their event – we foiled their “Mr. and Mrs.” sweetheart table sign, created signature drink signs for the bar, and a guest book sign for their very special framed photograph guest book.

We recently had the opportunity to take part in a fun Sweet 16 photo shoot and open house at the new Ocoee Lakeshore Center. The colorful pop art theme made you feel as if you stepped right into a comic book. In Style Imagery captured every detail from this “pop-tastic” shoot!

Living sculptures were among the entertainment for the evening. The models’ makeup, by Live Art by Julie, was true to the Pop Art theme. The dot pattern, dramatic lines and bold lips were inspired by the work of the Pop Art Movement leader, Roy Lichtenstein. Two Sweets Bake Shop provided delicious treats from cupcakes to popcorn, and on the menu from Puff ‘N Stuff were mini donuts and milk and gourmet meatballs.

We had fun channeling our inner comic book artist when designing the invitations and paper goods for this shoot. Big bright letters inside of dramatic speech balloons, captions, and the ever popular sound effects (POP!) were all details included in the design of the paper goods. Our work was seen all over the event, from the birthday girl’s chair sign, to the signage for the dessert buffet, to custom round menus. We even designed the artwork for the custom vinyl cling on the DJ booth!
