{Inspiration} Fresh-Squeezed: A Rustic Lemonade Stand Wedding

Dogwood Blossom Stationery, Wing of Glory Photography, Lemonade stand, bride and groom

Imagine a simpler time, spending a sunny afternoon sharing crisp cool lemonade. Childhood pastimes, like a lemonade stand, can be great inspiration for a memorable wedding.

The charm of this vintage-tinged daydream was captured by the Wings of Glory photo team and brought to life by the coordination of Vows Wedding & Event Planning. We had a wonderful time squeezing gallons of romance and joy into the invitations and paper goods that we created for this lemonade stand-inspired photoshoot.

These amazing photos capture the couple’s warm love and the effortless setting of the shoot.

The talented team at Bring out the Beauty in You enhanced the bride’s natural beauty to go along with this youthful theme. Her sun-kissed look was perfect with the glowing afternoon light!

Our paper goods were designed in yellow, blush pink, and gray, with a combination of stripes and lattice. The invitations used a layer of yellow striped seersucker fabric, were wrapped with cotton twine strung with an adorable yellow button, and encased in a custom-sewn burlap envelope. The hang tag-shaped menu cards reflected the decor’s rustic farm style, and had an added detail of jute twine.

The escort cards were displayed on a distressed yellow dresser with a backdrop of burlap streamers, adding to the rustic flavor. A yellow polka-dot border encircled each antique-style typeset number, and we backed the round cut-outs with burlap.

We absolutely loved how effortless our table numbers looked amongst the white flowers, which the Flower Lady casually placed in mason jars. Sprigs of lavender and sliced lemon accents were just slivers of the amazing details.

The lemon fresh inspiration was carried through with some delicious sweet treats. The dessert buffet included pink lemonade-colored popcorn, pink and yellow rock candy, soft pastel French macarons, and a breathtaking cake creation by Wendy Woo Cakes.

The furniture and design details by RW Events created an authentic atmosphere of a stylishly vintage farm.  The head table was set with mismatched chairs. We love the way our playful custom chair signs turned out: “He’s mine” and “She’s mine,” in case guests had any doubt! Our drink tags, below, continued the burlap motif seen on the rest of the paper goods. What a cute way to send your guests a loving message!

{Real Wedding} Julianne and Navin's Indian + American Wedding

It’s always great fun to design for couples we’ve never met before, but being asked to design for friends and family is the greatest honor!  I feel so fortunate to that I was asked to create the invitation and paper goods for the wedding of my beautiful sister-in-law, Julianne, and her groom, Navin, on July 6, 2013, in Boylston, Massachusetts.  To add to that exhilaration, this was a dual ceremony: Indian + American!

Both of the outdoor ceremonies and the reception were held at Tower Hill Botanic Garden. The invitation was a champagne pocket fold with a cream lace overlay, printed with light purple florals and leaf green accents. Something Borrowed Something New Events planned the wedding to perfection. With breathtaking photography by Matt Wood Photography and videography by Mavid Productions, Julianne and Navin will be able to look back on their day for years to come.

The Indian ceremony featured a beautiful mandap covered in gold, orange, and red draping.  So, for the Indian ceremony, we created a gold and red booklet-style program with hand-sewn binding, tied with a fluffy scarlet red satin ribbon.  The pages inside outlined the ceremony and described traditions so guests could follow along.  Special thanks to Navin’s aunt who was instrumental in providing the wording for the Indian program!

After the Indian ceremony, it was time to change everything!

For reception seating, we created table cards that each contained a unique flower motif and name.  Every table number used a different color in the sky blue, mossy green, yellow, and lilac purple color scheme.  We then printed guests’ names on cards that reflected the names and motifs of the table numbers, and mounted them on mossy satin ribbon and cream-colored lace strung on a decorative ironwork gate as a colorful, dimensional seating chart.

For favors, Julianne and Navin chose to give candy tucked inside adorable mini picnic baskets, and the whole family joined in the assembly line to decorate these with lace, light green ribbon, and favor tags printed on kraft brown paper.  At each place-setting, we also placed a thank you to each guest for attending the wedding, designed to coordinate with the reception decor and add color and decoration to the tables.

{Real Wedding} Lake Nona Country Club: Faye and Greg

Faye and Greg, a couple from Coventry, England, love to travel and chose Orlando, Florida, for their destination wedding. Lake Nona Golf & Country Club’s plantation-style elegance and Florida’s palm trees and sunsets provided a magical atmosphere for the couple’s big day. NuVisions Photography photographed the event, and the talented staff at Blush by Brandee Gaar coordinated the wedding.

Covered in pastel table linens and glass vases crowned with roses and hydrangeas, the reception looked like a page from a fairy tale magazine. For dessert, the newly weds chose cupcakes with white, pink, and purple toppings, creating a colorful display.

Because this was a destination wedding, Faye and Greg wanted a romantic, vintage “airmail” themed invitation, so we used blush pinks, caramel, and chocolate browns on speckled white paper, and created a collection of custom “airmail” stamps that each reflected their love story.  The hand-sewn booklet had a passport-style feel, loaded with travel information, accommodations, and wedding activities.  For added personalization, each invitation was individually custom-printed with the guests’ names.

The reception papers reflected the couple’s elegant theme and passion for travel. Printed on creamy, speckled white and layered onto oatmeal-colored paper, the paper goods used various landmarks from around New York, including Ellis Island, Rockefeller Center, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., The Spice Market Restaurant, and Central Park. Every place was a destination for a vacation Faye and Greg took previously, during which Greg proposed to Faye. Obviously, she said yes! And we’re so glad she did!

{Inspiration} Happy New Year – Radiant Orchid Wedding

We brought the 2014 New Year in style with this Radiant Orchid Wedding Inspiration photo shoot! Held at The Castle Hotel, it’s majestic yet modern style makes for the perfect location for any special occasion and especially this one! Photographed by In Style Imagery; videographed by Sugar Pop Films; and coordinated by Michele Butler Events, this shoot was produced flawlessly. Take a look:

Weddings By Carly Ane’s provided the stunning orchids and florals, “Radiant Orchid” (2014 Pantone color of the year) being the color the shoot was designed around. The vibrant purple orchids were mixed with various white accent flowers and crystal vases that shined under Orlando Wedding & Party Rentals‘ uplighting, creating a beautiful image. The glittering, sequined table linens added to the celebratory feel and were provided by Over the Top Linens.  Golden chiavari chairs, picture frames, and silver glitter chargers, provided by A Chair Affair, added some extra sparkle.

The color palette for our custom wedding invitations and paper goods included Radiant Orchid purple, gold, silver, and plum purple, all with glitter and metallic accents.  The folding invitation featured a pearlized gold folder with a glittery purple belly band tied with orchid satin ribbon.  Inside, the invitation was printed in radiant orchid in full bleed with white lettering.  A monogram enclosure band held enclosures in place.

Custom place-setting menus were designed to coordinate with the invitation ensemble, with an addition of a gold glitter backing.  Placed at each place-setting, they added even more color to the table, in addition to functioning as an information piece for guests.

Escort cards were also printed in orchid purple in full bleed, with glitter gold backing.  Favorite pieces included the “Mr. and Mrs.” round chairback banner, printed in plum on metallic gold and strung with a teal ribbon, adorable mini champagne bottle labels, double-sided gold glitter and monogrammed drink stirrers, and specialty signage pieces.

{News} Dogwood Blossom Featured in FFGC's December Display!

We at Dogwood Blossom Stationery are proud to announce that our work for this Woodsy Winter Wedding was included in the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs’ December wedding display! Our wedding invitations and paper goods were custom-created to coordinate with the display. Check out some stills from the display –beautifully captured by Rachel V Photography – below:

FFGC December Display

For the wedding invitation, we created a custom monogram using a vintage-styled wreath with hand-painted white mistletoe berries and carried the painted mistletoe motif through to the menus and other paper goods. Printed in mossy green on Kraft brown paper, then layered onto textured stark white cotton paper, the invitation is woodsy and rustic, but still formal.
