Marzetta and Brian are a fun-loving couple whose wedding at Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress exuded the perfect party atmosphere. We loved their bold royal purple and lime green color scheme and their contemporary but fun style.

We took great pleasure in designing and producing their custom typographical wedding invitations, escort cards, welcome letters, favor tags, and select signage.  Possibly our favorite pieces were their escort cards, which doubled as favor tags. Guests were asked to keep the clear photo frames that displayed the escort cards and swap out the escort cards with a commemorative photo strip from photo booth sessions with Photobooth Rocks!. Our second favorite pieces were their sunglass tags, which read: “Don’t be blinded by our love!”  Truly, I think those tags likely set the stage for a crazy, quirky weekend of fun.  For their table numbers, we coordinated them with the fun, modern style of their escort cards, using the same purple background and white lettering.  We used a tiny heart on many of their pieces as a line break and the only true “artwork” element.

The talented team from Just Marry! pulled out all the stops to guarantee Marzetta and Brian’s celebration was one-of-a-kind, with Steven Miller Photography and Pro One Video on site to record every moment. While Strings, Etc. and White Rose Entertainment delivered amazing music for both the ceremony and reception, the spotlight entertainment was the award-winning Egyptian Cabaret belly dancer, Yana, from Daytona Beach Bellydance. It was an amazing action-packed performance with Marzetta and Brian joining in on the dance floor.

We had a blast working with you, Marzetta and Brian. Thank you for choosing us to design your custom wedding invitation and papers!

PS – Not only did we love this wedding, but so did The Knot! We were thrilled to see this wedding featured recently!

What a great collaboration! Bluegrass Chic designed a reception table for a Southern tea and Two Sweets Bake Shop designed an accompanying bourbon bar-inspired dessert buffet.  So many elements enhanced the Southern equestrian style, including vintage china, lace details, an abundance of flowers, and (of course) a horse motif!  Thanks to Allan Jay Images for capturing the look so beautifully!

Our paper goods featured horseshoe and wildflower artwork to bring the South into our work. We used earth tones to keep the look classic, such as deep green, sage, burgundy and goldenrod. The menus were layered onto pale metallic gold stock and accented by an emblem with the couple’s monogram surrounded by a golden yellow horseshoe with burgundy flowers. We also made a sign to welcome guests to the celebration, which used the same artwork as the menu but included the written theme of the day: “Tea for Two, and Two for Tea.”

On the table, we carried the traditional Southern design elements to several accent pieces. Guests knew that they were in the correct seat by our unique place cards: teabag tags printed with their names! Also at each place setting was a favor of jarred lemon curd, for which we made circular tags with the wildflower artwork. For a fun touch, each guest also had access to a bell with our tag that read, “Ring for Kisses!” Both the favor tags and the bell tags were tied with a silky sage green ribbon to coordinate with the color palette.

The dessert buffet by Two Sweets Bake Shop featured our sign announcing that the buffet would open after brunch. This time, we chose to accent the sign with the couple’s full monogram flanked by wildflowers instead of using the horseshoe and single letter monogram. Be assured–the dessert table had plenty of horses! We created signage for each sweet treat that had sophisticated horse artwork at the top. Plus, the table was styled with horse statues and riding paraphernalia intermingled with the candy and cupcakes.

If you love the diversity of our work, make sure that you like our Facebook to follow all our projects.

We loved creating this look with some of our favorite wedding professionals! Thank you all:

Blush pink and gold are hugely popular for weddings right now, so we were excited to show how this color palette could be used to create a romantic and glamorous wedding. This styled shoot was conceived and photographed by Kati Rosado Photography with design and styling by Emily Grace Design, and the results couldn’t have been more stunning. The combination of the gleaming metallic finishes, feminine pink colors, and the rustic setting of Up the Creek Farms gave a very personal (and enviable!) overall design.

We designed our invitations and paper goods on pale pink stock with gold foil printing. The invitations were a square folder design with the couple’s initials on the cover surrounded by a laurel wreath in gold foil. Instead of a standard plus sign between the M and R, we added a sweet heart shape. Inside, the folder was lined with a mod, circular pattern in gold foil. All of the important information was printed onto blush pink paper with a gold glitter border, and the response card was held by a pink fabric ribbon embellished with a monogrammed, die-cut circle.

Pink ribbon accents were carried over to the menus and escort cards. The die-cut menus were done in a curving frame shape with a sweet ribbon at the top. The escort cards were presented in combination with the macaron favors by Two Sweets Bake Shop. Guest names were printed in an elegant script with their table numbers in a modern sans serif font (all in gold foil). Notched blush pink ribbons ran horizontally behind the cards. A sign on the favor tray/escort card table repeated the glittery gold border seen on the invitation. Rounding out our paper goods were delicate place cards, charmingly placed in artichoke holders at each place setting.

The rest of the decor for the shoot also combined classic romance with modern chic appeal. The bouquet and floral work by Julie Miner Events looked lush, especially when placed on the vintage-inspired table from Crystal and Crates. Gold was everywhere, from the classy chiavari chairs from A Chair Affair to the amazingly designed cake by Creative Cakes & Candies.

We were so pleased with how this styled shoot came out! It was so eye-catching that Ruffled featured it on their site! Check out the blog post here.

Thank you to all of the wedding professionals involved for a beautiful result!

Elaine and Jeff married on Valentine’s Day at Mission Inn Resort, and the day could not have been more romantic! The theme of Elaine and Jeff’s wedding was “A Journey of Love,” an idea that came from the couple’s love of travel and their adventures together. We love the way that this theme was carried through each aspect of this special day, from the decor to the food and drink.  Rhodes Studios took so many beautiful photos that we had trouble choosing which ones to feature here!

Elaine and Jeff had the most personal wedding of any we’ve ever seen!  Every single element of their paper goods – from the invitation to table numbers to signage – carried a personal and meaningful story from their “journey of love.”  They met as coworkers, and as their relationship grew, their time was dotted with trips throughout the US, most notably to Vegas, Hawaii, and finally Alaska, where Jeff proposed to Elaine atop a glacier.

We loved that Carly Ane’s Floral Studio created centerpieces that coordinated with each table’s theme: tropical floral for Hawaii, soaring vases of blue-tinted water topped with white hydrangea for Alaska, and vases of floating candles full of blingy crystals for Las Vegas. Each centerpiece even featured fun figurines like hula girls, miniature bears and moose, and poker chips and dice. To top everything off, Party Flavors Custom Cakes made five (yes, FIVE!) unique cakes for Elaine and Jeff: a volcano, a gambler’s fantasy cake, a traditional wedding cake with pretty purple details, a representation of an Alaskan cruise (including a glacier on top), and a Notre Dame cake for the groom!

Jeff and Elaine had previously designed their own luggage tag save-the-date before we met with them.  So to continue in their style of travel-themed papers, they asked us to design a passport-style invitation–somewhat realistic in appearance, but using their purple and champagne color scheme (with tiny pops of red).  On the photo page of their passport, we used a photo from one of their cruises.  On the arrivals/departures pages, we created custom stamps of locations they had visited on their trips–volcanoes, glaciers, parks, casinos, and historical places–and then included “handwritten” memories and notes next to each stamp.  The stamp pages of their passport invitation were ultra-personal; it was as if they had invited their guests on the trips along with them and were reliving the fun.

We carried the watermark-style patterns from the passport into their day-of papers, wedding programs, and signage.  Our absolute favorite piece was a two-part “Here comes the Bride” sign that was tied onto the back of a custom princess carriage created to roll Elaine’s niece (the flower girl) down the aisle.  On their way to the reception, guests picked up their escort cards, attached to a key with a purple satin ribbon, and could match their assigned table by name AND corresponding photo of the couple at that location (“Kona,” “MGM Grand,” and “Fairbanks” were just a few).  These photos matched those on table cards.  To show that they wanted their guests to have a great time, Elaine and Jeff supplied flip-flops and silly dance floor props in baskets with our “Dance like no one’s watching” sign.  And rather than a typical guestbook, they had a custom garden bench made for all guests to sign, which they have now placed in their backyard.

This wedding truly had so many ultra-personal details, it would take a book to share them all.  For certain, Elaine and Jeff’s guests had a fabulous time and will remember this wedding forever!

Elaine gave us a great, 5-star review on WeddingWire! Here are a few of her impressions from working with us:

“Denise was superb!! Our wedding guests are still raving about her creativity and attention to detail from our passport invitations to our menus and signage throughout our venue. Denise was extremely responsive as we worked with her to create these unique items for our wedding. She was the utmost professional and it was obvious to us how passionate she is about her work. Because of Denise’s vision, we were able to pull together all the travel themes in our wedding (Hawaii, Las Vegas, Alaska) seamlessly. Thank you Denise for making our wedding day so special.”

Elaine and Jeff, thank you so much for choosing to work with Dogwood Blossom Stationery to create you custom invitations and paper goods!  It was a blast to work with you and an honor to help you share your “journey of love!”

Chris and Josh’s incredible wedding at Aloft Orlando Downtown was full of colorful celebration. Captured through the lens of Lauren Watai Photography, their special day included plenty of fun colors, happy family and friends, and lots and lots of dancing! We were so excited to create the invitations and paper goods for this sweet couple, who had traveled to upstate New York a couple weeks prior to their Orlando wedding celebration for their marriage license.

When I first met Chris and Josh, they told me they chose Aloft for its mid-century modern, “Mad Men” style, and they wanted their wedding style to reflect the style of the venue.  So I asked Chris and Josh to walk me through Aloft and show me some of the decor that thrilled them most.  In that meeting, we decided to use electric blue, magenta, and chartreuse, with an addition of a dark blue to balance the brights.  They loved the patterns and textures used throughout the venue as well – yellowed woods, charcoal wools, and colorful abstract shapes.  To reflect these elements, we kept the paper goods clean but modern, and incorporated contrasting textures into the layers of the invitation.

We printed their invitation on matte white and layered it onto wood veneer that had been custom-stained for them.  The backing was created with charcoal wool fabric to create thickness and texture.  Their invitation was created in a large A9 size to make the most of their textures, and it created a breathtaking and unique presentation.

For their day-of papers, we used their custom monogram from their invitation for a cohesive look. We created food and drink signs for the buffet and the bar, and favor tags on wooden sticks. Chris and Josh chose succulent plants in mini galvanized pots as their favors, and Greenery Productions styled their showstopping favor table.

The rest of the decor was equally bright and graphic. We loved the chevron-patterned cake dotted with succulents, by Party Flavors Custom Cakes, which coordinated perfectly with the chevron linens on the favor table. Greenery Productions‘ floral work included the grooms’ boldly colored boutonnieres and gorgeous ceremony flowers in vivid purple, blue, and green.

We were so honored to be a part of this beautiful and touching wedding! Thank you to these awesome vendors for helping to make Chris and Josh’s wedding dreams come true:

{Real Wedding} Donna and Richard's Valentine's Day Wedding

DonnaandRichCov

Donna and Richard promised each other forever on a day meant for lovers. On February 14th, 2014, guests gathered for an outdoor ceremony at Harmony Golf Preserve. The glowing bride rode in on Misty Blue Acres Carriage Company‘s all-white carriage drawn by two horses. Her warm smile greeted guests on the way to meet her prince. The elegant backdrop of nature, as well as the decor, was caught effortlessly by Sunshine Photographics. We were honored to be a part of this beautiful wedding by creating the couple’s invitations and paper goods.

DonnaandRichardWinebox
This wine box was lovingly made by Rich’s parents. As part of their wedding ceremony, the newlyweds placed a love note to each other in this time capsule to be encased for 5 years. However, if they have a trying time before 5 years, they can unlock the box and read the notes to each other over a glass of wine from the bottle housed within. How sweet and genuine!

DonnaandRichSuperHero.jpg

Another personal element was kept under wraps: the groom and his men broke all the rules by wearing superhero shirts under their button-downs.

DonnaandRichVows

DonnaandRichFlowerAsile

The happy couple made their way down a beautiful aisle of fiery-colored rose petals and blazed a path towards happiness in their new lives. The vibrant orange and pinks of Lee Forrest Design‘s floral work cut a striking contrast to the woodsy setting. Our soft pink ceremony programs featured a delicate floral-patterned border and crystal accent for a little tasteful “bling.”

DonnaandRichFlow

The fresh floral continued to their reception and romantic colors. The simple elegance of the decor was carried out through the classic centerpieces, traditional-but-modern (and delicious-looking) cake by Cut the Cake, and our cream and coral paper goods. We used an elegant script throughout the signage, including on the custom card box sign.

The couple’s chair backs were adorned with our custom signs that read “His Beloved” and “Her Beloved:” a reminder of their love and excitement to everyone who passed their seats. We were pleased to provide a creative combination of escort cards and favor tags. The favor was a slice of a traditional Jamaican celebratory rum cake. (The kids got brownies instead!) Our escort cards, printed with each guest’s name and table name, were attached by a coral-colored ribbon and a delicate charm of intertwined hearts.

{News} We've been featured in Orlando Wedding magazine!

More big news!  More excitement!  Orlando Wedding magazine featured two of our Welcome Bags in the Spring/Summer 2012 issue, out on newsstands right now.  As the article says, welcome bags are a fantastic surprise for out-of-town guests to find in their hotel rooms.

Celadon green and tangerine, hot pink and emerald green wedding welcome bags

Our welcome bag, featured on the left, was created with a Kraft paper gift bag with twisted handles.  It was stenciled along both sides with a celadon green peacock feather.  A square tag, printed on cream, is attached with a tangerine orange ribbon.  A closing clasp is created for this bag using jute twine that loops around the welcome bag tag.

Our welcome box, featured on the right, is a custom-created hot pink box.  It is adorned with white ruffle ribbon and emerald green satin ribbon.  A white faux chrysanthemum sits on top of the box and holds in place a round welcome tag, printed on pearlized white and adorned with two Swarovski crystals.

Have you been scouting for unique welcome bags for your out-of-town wedding guests?  What are you planning to include in your welcome bags?  Contact us at Dogwood Blossom Stationery to begin custom-creating your welcome bags!

Soft Bue Driftwood Wedding Invitation

Blue and Brown Driftwood Wedding Invitation
Boxed wedding invitation with shell and wood beads

Soft sand, warm light, the gentle sounds of waves lapping the shore and gulls in the distance…  Just those thoughts alone cause me to close my eyes, sigh deeply, and relax a bit.

I’ve been wanting to do something with a more natural theme, lately.  A number of recent clients have used trees on their invitations, so I guess that’s why I’ve been leaning towards nature.  Plus, the weather is getting nicer and I’ve been spending more time outdoors!  (Not that the weather isn’t pretty good year-round here in Florida!)  Last weekend, I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at the Canaveral National Seashore – my favorite beach that I happily live very near.  So I created the invitation above with a beach wedding in mind.

This boxed invitation is 5.5” x 8.5” with multiple layers of pearlized soft sky blue papers, light flecked oatmeal paper, and soft creamy white paper.  I hand-sewed aqua shell and hand-carved wood beads onto the invitation, and added a sprinkle of Swarovski crystals.  It arrives in a kraft brown box filled with natural wood excelsior (curled wood shavings), and the enclosures are contained in a band affixed to the lid of the box.  A bright aqua blue satin ribbon holds the box closed during mailing, and a custom label tops it all off.  Perfect for a fabulous beach wedding, wouldn’t you say?

Also shown is a flat bonded ceremony program and a round favor tag tied to a corked glass bottle, both designed to coordinate with the invitation.

Real Wedding: Rita & Franck’s Sapphire Blue and Lemon Yellow Wedding

Rita and Franck’s wedding day in October at LPGA International was full of special touches and attention to detail.  As the couple are French, as were some of the guests, they chose lots of classic French detail, such as a fleur de lis motif, a croquembouche wedding cake, and even a Bible verse printed in French on the invitations being sent to French-speaking guests.

Rita and Franck chose a color palette of lemon yellow, used for flowers and decor, against a sapphire blue backdrop.  I love Rita’s decision to incorporate real lemons and lemon halves into the centerpieces and decor.  I’m betting their reception smelled wonderful!  They worked in the fleur de lis motif where possible, on printed paper goods and on the seating card holders.

A croquembouche was served as the wedding cake, as is traditional for French weddings.  Gorgeous all by itself – created by mounding profiteroles into a cone and dripping it with sweets – it was made even more spectacular with flowers and curled lemon-zest decoration worked into the tower.  Rita also gave Franck a sweet surprise with a really lovely groom’s cake decorated with the Arsenal Football Club logo in fondant!

Dogwood Blossom Stationery created a fairly traditional, layered wedding invitation for Rita and Franck.  Rita chose pearlized dark sapphire blue paper paired with matte lemon  yellow.  We accented the invitation with a small fleur de lis  in the perfect middle.  Square table numbers were created using the same papers and motif for the couple’s reception.  And because Rita and Franck wanted to give something special and personalized for their wedding favors, we created custom recipe cards using the couple’s favorite family recipes.

What a beautiful wedding!  Thank you, Rita and Franck, for letting me be part of you day!

{Fresh & Sweet} Daisy Wedding Invitation in Tangerine & Sherbet Pink

Tangerine and sherbert pink are perfectly fresh colors for an outdoor summer wedding.  A long and slender wedding invitation, featuring an orange and pink daisy trio tells of the relaxed and intimate wedding that’s to come.  I’ve always loved the idea of outdoor weddings – and had one myself!  There is something about fresh air, cool breeze, and warm sun that makes me feel easy and comfortable.  I imagine this wedding to have brightly colored, unmatched linens popping with patterns, sweet and juicy watermelon slices served simply and without any fuss, and a wedding cake whose Gerbera daisies in light pinks and oranges match those on the invitation.
